Technical information
Our Mosquito Motor Harness uses a Swedish AeroSport designed power plant
and drive system which utalises an engine based on Husquarna chain saw parts.
This combination has been refined over 14 years and 1000 units to give the
reliability you require. The 120 cc engine produces 15 Hp and will give you
a climb rate of around 2 m/s (400 ft/m). A centrifugal clutch allowes the
propeller to stand still while the engine idles. This is a big safety factor
and also reduces vibration.
An electric starter version is available for lazy restarts in the air.
For the thermal snooper we suggest the foldable prop for minimum drag.
The Mosquito will fit most modern gliders. Only one
permanent modification is needed, the keel has to be cut 1200 mm (47") behind
the hang point. The cut off section can be refitted to help rig the wing and
for free flight.
